ANTIQUE FRENCH LEBEL M1886-93 8mmx50R RARE SCOPE MOUNT + BAYONET EXCELLENT. NO FFL.
Description: I'm selling my collection. Here is an Antique French Lebel Modèle 1886-93, manufactured in Tulle one of the main Arsenal Government factory, produced in 1888, "80072" serial numbers on metal and wood are all matching rare enough to be mentioned. Another rarity to come with an original period scope mount can be clipped instantly on the receiver using the original left side screw of the rifle (mid 1930s between WWI & WWII) which was modified to fit a good old American Weaver K10 (good clear glass). In WWI in the trenches distant some time less than 50 yards from the enemy not a real necessity of use for scope for sharp shooter. Various scope mounts were seldomly engineered & fit by armorer. Scarcely found in such good condition: 31.1/2" barrel bore is very good and shiny & sharp rifling. For collector on the top of the barrel the letter "N" is marked on (the original 8mmx50R had a flat nose bullet to prevent accidental firing while stored in the mag, then they came out with the "N" pointed bullet with a circle grooved around the primer to be used and fired in all Lebel & Berthier. It could come with its very good original épée quadangular bayonet for an extra $150-. The bolt action, the lifter and tube mag work well and are in excellent condition. These French Lebel are fun to shoot and very accurate with available reloads (Target results showed on th picture were shot without scope). These were the first repeaters to shoot the first smokeless cartridges. The rifle was issued in WWI and to many other conflicts African & Indochina conquest. The ammunitions showed on one of the picture are not for sale. It's a real collector piece of history as it was produced in 1888. Only the battle of Verdun which lasted 10 months made 700,000 victims, 163,000 French & 143,000 Germans and 410,000 wounded on both sides. What is not mentioned in the description can be seen on the pictures. I haven't shot this one. I described it to the best of my knowledge. Please don't ask for extra pictures and the old cartridges showed on one of the pictures are not for sale.
