(Manufacture d'Armes de St Etienne) in 1889, "K 106" serial numbers are not matching as most of the battle rifles which served in so many wars & conflicts, the 5 main different French governement factory manufactured precisely to the same specifications each parts in order to be interchangeable. 31.1/2" barrel with a good bore lightly grainy in the grooves with good shard rifling. On the top of the barrel the letter "N" is marked on (the original 8mmx 50R had a flat nose bullet to prevent accidental firing while stored in the mag, then they came out with the "N" pointed bullet with a circle grooved around the primer to be used and fired in all Lebel & Berthier.
