An antique Scottish made hammer underlever double rifle chambered for 10-gauge rifle cartridges. The browned Damascus steel 28” dovetail-lump rifled barrels are fit with extractors, doll's head third fastener, full length rib which is file cut and flat, lined dovetailed express rear sights - 1 standing matte sight being regulated for 50 yards and 1 folding leaf sight regulated for 100 yards. Tipped blade front sight with flip-up moon sight. Period London Proof Marks. The rib is roll marked "ALEXR HENRY, EDINBURGH AND LONDON."// "MAKER TO THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESS' THE PRINCE OF WALES AND DUKE OF EDINBURGH" The case color hardened action and peninsula locks are engraved with fine English Arabesque scrolls and "ALEXR HENRY" in banner is engraved on both the left and right peninsula locks. The action is fit with rebounding hammers, case color hardened and engraved underlever, fire-blued stalking safeties, double triggers with the front blade being checkered at its tip that is protected by a case color hardened scroll engraved trigger guard that extends to a bottom strap which is also engraved with scrolls and the serial number. Nicely figured Reddish-brown walnut stock with checkered pistol grip, grip with case color hardened & engraved cap box, beaded pancake cheekpiece and loop for sling. Splinter fore-end with wrap-around checkering and scroll engraved lever release, 14” LOP over a 3/4" reddish-orange Silver's style rubber recoil pad, 14 Lbs. - 13 Oz. Rifle resides in an oak & leather trunk case with brass corners. Case with newer "Alex Henry." trade case label affixed to the interior of the lid. The case comes with a 2-piece wooden cleaning rod and 3 wooden handle turnscrews.
