Sharps Carbine – Original Percussion Configuration (Refinished)
Description: A historic Sharps Carbine from the mid-19th century, meticulously refinished while retaining its original percussion ignition system. The carbine features a robust walnut stock, polished and restored, with visible grain patterns and a smooth, glossy finish. The metal components, including the receiver, barrel, and lockplate, have been refinished to a soft satin gray or blued appearance, with light patina hints preserving its historical charm. The breech-loading mechanism shows detailed craftsmanship, with a side-mounted hammer and a lever-action breech block. The barrel is round, fitted with simple iron sights. Subtle markings on the receiver reflect its original manufacturer and patent dates. Brass or steel fittings and a saddle ring on the left side complete the design, making it suitable for cavalry use during the Indian or Civil War."
