NEW ENGLAND FLINTLOCK RIFLE .50 Caliber Boston Area Brass Patchbox
Antique Original Flint Mechanism in Short Format
Description: NEW ENGLAND FLINTLOCK RIFLE .50 Caliber Boston Area Brass Patchbox Antique Original Flint Mechanism in Short Format Here we present an antique New England Long Rifle, made circa the early-19th Century in the Boston area of Massachusetts. This one is shorter overall so as to be for a small-statured shooter such as a boy or for a handier piece to carry by hand or in a saddle scabbard. The octagonal barrel is about 24” long and the length of pull (LOP) is 12 ½”. Half-length stock. There is a latched brass patchbox that is similar to those of John Mason and Thomas Holbrook—like a pillar with a spade finial. Pewter fore end cap. A.W. Spies lock. This would have been the kind of rifle used by just about everyone in the early days of the American republic, when the frontier was never really that far away, and people needed to hunt game for the table. The overall condition is very good. Nice patina. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling, untouched. The stock is solid, showing use. This is a very nice piece with its original flintlock mechanism still intact! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 23-7/8 inches. Caliber: .50 Flintlock Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $3400 #230608 Price: $3,400.00 Buy Now Antique: Yes Contact Seller |
