Antique Unmarked “MILITIA” Style Large Bore .73 Caliber FLINTLOCK Musket Late 1700s to Early 1800s Militia Style Musket
Description: Antique Unmarked “MILITIA” Style Large Bore .73 Caliber FLINTLOCK Musket Late 1700s to Early 1800s Militia Style Musket Here we present an antique Unmarked Militia Style Flintlock Musket, made circa the late-18th Century to early 19th Century. This is a slightly smaller, lighter weight musket compared to the larger “Brown Bess” style musket, leaning more towards the Pattern 1816 muskets manufactured by the U.S. national armories. Flintlocks such as these were made by gunmakers at large rather than by the national armory and would have been used by officers, fusiliers, volunteer regiments, and even militia units. This example follows the American muskets in form and style. The barrel is 38-1/2" in length, shorter than the regular armory flintlocks of 42". British muskets such as these were also exported to the U.S. for militia service as well as for use as ships muskets, etc. As to officer's muskets, there was no official pattern which means that, while many are of smaller caliber, this was not a hard and fast rule. What is consistent is quality and practically every example displays a high level of. The action does not function due to many missing parts. The bore has darkened but remains in good shape. A portion of the barrel tang is missing. Some splitting has occurred in the forend towards the muzzle. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 38-1/4 inches. Caliber: .73 Flintlock Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1200 #227614 SOLD Antique: Yes |
