Antique Circa 1860 percussion Fowler canoe gun
Description: On Hold Sale Pending The sale I purchased this on called this a Antique 1850-1860 percussion canoe gun. I have never seen a antique gun like it. Total length 29" with a 14 inch octagon to round barrel and approximately 60-62 caliber smooth bore. The unusual part is it appears to have been manufactured as it is and not cut down. The only markings are I think British proofs at the breach (see photos). The dark stock appears to be walnut and has a crack or repair in front of the lock. The lock functions and the nipple is in good condition. The lock, trigger guard, but plate and barrel are steel with a smooth dark brown patina. There are 3 brass inlays behind the tang and trigger guard. A most unusual percussion muzzle loader. Please feel free to contact me with questions. Shipping will be actuall cost by insured usps priority mail with tracking. On Hold Sale Pending SOLD Antique: Yes |
