"Scarce Early Whitney Connecticut Contract 1861 Musket. Metal has been cleaned into a bright finish. Pitting is noted on the top of the lock plate and nipple. Lock plate is an early style with the “E. Whitney" over “N. Haven". Stock is good, shows handling wear with no cracks. These muskets are commonly found with heavy use. Great early Civil War musket!
