Description: MARY OF SCOTLAND Antique GERMANIC MATCHLOCK “Arquebus” MOVIE PROP Musket RKO PICTURES Fascinating Ancient Weaponry w/DVD Here we present an antique Prop Germanic Matchlock Arquebus Musket that was used as a movie prop in the 1930s and 1950s. This example was made as a non-functioning movie prop. This gun was reportedly used in the Hollywood film Mary of Scotland filmed in 1938, and also in Plymouth Adventure in 1952. It has an RKO Pictures inventory marking “RKO DA5239” on the left of the breech. Also included is a pole marked “RKO/DA/5280”. There are white painted numbers “157” on the gun and “157-A” on the pole. A DVD of the film “Mary of Scotland” is also included. RKO Radio Pictures Inc., commonly known as RKO Pictures or simply RKO, was an American film production and distribution company, one of the "Big Five" film studios of Hollywood's Golden Age. The business was formed after the Keith-Albee-Orpheum theater chain and Joseph P. Kennedy's Film Booking Offices of America studio were brought together under the control of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in October of 1928. This is a non-firing prop. The stock is solid.
