1835 mfr. PRUSSIAN POTSDAM M 1809 FLINTLOCK Infantry Musket FW .72
Antique Mid-19th Century German Long Arm
Description: 1835 mfr. PRUSSIAN POTSDAM M 1809 FLINTLOCK Infantry Musket FW .72 Antique Mid-19th Century German Long Arm Here we present an antique Prussian Potsdam Model 1809 Musket, manufactured circa 1835 at the Prussian armory at Potsdam. The Potsdam musket was the standard infantry weapon of the Royal Prussian Army from the 18th century until the military reforms of the 1840s. Four models were produced at Potsdam, including the Model 1723, the Model 1740, the Model 1809, and the Model 1831. The Model 1809 was originally made in the flintlock format, with production after 1831 shifting to the more modern and reliable percussion firing system. This musket would have been used in Prussian conflicts during the 1840s and 50s, including the Egyptian-Ottoman War, the Greater Poland Uprising, the Revolutions of 1848, and the First Schleswig War. The overall condition is fair. Original patina throughout. Reconverted to flintlock. The action is not presently functional and does not have mainspring tension. The bore is patinated and smooth. The stock has a partial crack through the bottom of the stock near the wrist. A thin sliver is absent from bottom of the forestock. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 41-1/4 inches. Caliber: .72 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1500 #230979 SOLD Antique: Yes |
