British Tranter Style Small Game Rifle by Jackson
Description: NSN, .380 CF, 23 3/4" octagonal barrel with a very good bore that has mild freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome little tip-up rifle that has 30-40% of the original blue remaining on the barrel, with silvering along the edges of the barrel facets, and a plum-brown patina on the balance. The top of the barrel is marked with a retailer name: "JACKSON EDGEWARE ROAD" with Birmingham proofs on the underside. The frame has a predominantly plum-brown patina, with some hints of muted color case-hardening on protected areas, and some scattered spots of freckling as well. The checkered, pistol-grip walnut buttstock is in very good-fine shape with some small handling marks and minor blemishes scattered about, as well as some slight gaps at the frame juncture. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a handsome little rifle, and would make a nice addition to a collection of British rook and small game rifles.
