Description: BRASS BARREL Antique Smoothbore LONG RIFLE w ASHMORE & SON Lock .65 Caliber Unique c1840s Kentucky Musket Here we present an antique American Smoothbore Long Rifle, made circa the mid-19th Century. The octagonal brass smoothbore barrel with rifle sights is unique, indeed. This musket has an R. Ashmore & Son lock. Ashmore was a known lockmaker working out of Lancaster County, Kentucky. The overall condition is good. The action is strong. The bore is smooth and in good shape. The stock is solid with a short, stable crack at the toe. The rib on the bottom of the barrel has been soldered before and still isn’t tight but it isn’t going to fall off either. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
