Here we present an antique European Flintlock & Percussion Musket. This appears to be Austrian in origin and reconfigured at some point. It was converted to flintlock, likely for sale to the African market where arms such as this were in demand and safe enough for the indigenous to have—in other words, these were thoroughly obsolete and not very useful in gaining an upper hand in case of a rebellion.

This example has a unique modern percussion conversion device. The ingenious device utilizes parts of the original flintlock to be converted to percussion, while allowing this example to “re-convert” by simply removing the device causing no damage to the action.

The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is in good shape for its age. The stock is solid throughout and contains a grafted piece near the left side screw. Legible markings.
