1700s British Empire TOWER Antique BROWN BESS .75 Caliber CONVERSION Musket Britain’s Main Longarm for 130 Years!
Description: 1700s British Empire TOWER Antique BROWN BESS .75 Caliber CONVERSION Musket Britain’s Main Longarm for 130 Years! Here we present an antique British Brown Bess Percussion Conversion Musket, made in England circa the late 1700s to early 1800s. This iconic British military longarm would have started out life as a flintlock and converted to percussion as the more reliable firing system was introduced. The hammer on this piece is large and flat. This musket was in use for so long that most of the markings have been almost completely effaced. You can just make out some Birmingham proofs on the left side of the barrel as well as TOWER on the tail of the lock. The Brown Bess was in service in various iterations for about 130 years throughout the world, everywhere the British Empire touched, including the European mainland, Asia, Africa, and North America. This musket has been there and done that. Patina throughout. The markings are faint. The percussion nipple is quite peened. The action remains strong. The bore is smooth and dim. The stock has been shored up with a screw where there is a crack at the wrist. A very old and well-used musket—if only it could speak! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 37-1/2 inches. Caliber: .75 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1600 #220134 SOLD Antique: Yes |
