This revolver is marked on the barrel rib ""WILKINSON SWORD CO. PALL MALL LONDON"". It has a silver ""TKR"" roundel on the left side grip and is marked TKR on the lid of the leather luggage style case as is often found on personalized cases such as this. TKR was Thomas Kane McClintock Bunbury. He was the2nd Baron of Rathdonnell 1848-1929,and his family addressed him as TKR. He was a member of Irish Aristocracy and served as Colonel in the Royal Irish Rifles. Baron Rathdonnel served in the political arena as lord Lieutenant of County Carlow and other posts. Additional information on the Baron can be found on the internet. Included with this set is his holster (marked ""Wilkinson, Pall Mall London"") in which the shoulder strap has a provision for his ""over the top"" whistle (included) used by officers to signal to the troops in the trenches to climb out and attack the enemy usually resulting in the severe casualties of trench warfare. Photos of TKR as a young man and in later years can be found on the internet. The relined case has two leather straps, an oil bottle, and a fine hallmarked pocket knife which may have been carried by the Baron.
