Serial No. 11891, circa 1900, .455, 6"" Wilkinson Sword Co. Pall Mall London. Revolver has been polished at some point with traces of original nickel present. Milner's letter states this Webley was originally in a nickel finish. Under side of the barrel is marked with ""C.C. PHILLIES"". Bore is good with some frosting noted in the strong rifling. Brown wooden checkered grips look to also have been lightly refurbished with Wilkinson inventory number noted left side. Action functions correctly with a tight lock up. Wooden Wilkinson case covered in Wilkinson leather marked with ""C.C. PHILLIPS R.F.A."" embossed. Inside the five compartment case includes oiler, screwdriver, cleaning rod, lanyard and Croix de Guerre of Belgium Medal. Retail Wilkinson retail label is in very good condition. Captain Phillies would fight throughout the war where he would be wounded twice on the Western Front. After the War he would serve in India where he would rise to the rank of Major for the Royal Tank Crops. Unfortunately Major Phillies would die from on February 28th 1926 in Poona, India from Dysentery.
