USFA Custer Battlefield Single Action Revolver
Gun is in excellent condition, with original box, USFA storage sock, and all factory original paperwork. Cylinder has been turned and cycled, but it is unfired except for the factory test firing. Gun was manufactured to look used and aged, so the cycling marks on the cylinder notches fit right in. There is also a tiny chip in the bottom front of the left grip panel which was “as received” from the factory. The gun was purchased new in October 2005. It was hand-selected at the factory by a personal acquaintance, Mr. Gary Grainger, who was then vice-president of sales for US Firearms. I purchased it from him through his business, Frontier Classic Firearms, Avon, CT. The Custer Battlefield series was meant to depict a gun that could have been picked up at the battlefield several months after the historic fight. It was a limited run consisting of only the serial number range of those guns issued to Custer’s 7th Cavalry. It has all of the markings consistent with the original .45 Colt 1873 SAA’s, including the correct serial number range and number placement, correct manufacturer’s numbers, correct inspectors’ marks and correct cartouche on the left grip panel. The only difference is that it is marked US Firearms, Hartford, Ct. USA instead of Colt. All in all, a very nice and historically correct revolver.

Gun is in excellent condition, with original box, USFA storage sock, and all factory original paperwork. Cylinder has been turned and cycled, but it is unfired except for the factory test firing. Gun was manufactured to look used and aged, so the cycling marks on the cylinder notches fit right in. There is also a tiny chip in the bottom front of the left grip panel which was “as received” from the factory. The gun was purchased new in October 2005. It was hand-selected at the factory by a personal acquaintance, Mr. Gary Grainger, who was then vice-president of sales for US Firearms. I purchased it from him through his business, Frontier Classic Firearms, Avon, CT. The Custer Battlefield series was meant to depict a gun that could have been picked up at the battlefield several months after the historic fight. It was a limited run consisting of only the serial number range of those guns issued to Custer’s 7th Cavalry. It has all of the markings consistent with the original .45 Colt 1873 SAA’s, including the correct serial number range and number placement, correct manufacturer’s numbers, correct inspectors’ marks and correct cartouche on the left grip panel. The only difference is that it is marked US Firearms, Hartford, Ct. USA instead of Colt. All in all, a very nice and historically correct revolver.

Returns: Our return policy is simple. It is important to us that you are happy. Guns must not be fired or dissembled before returning them and they must be returned in the same condition as received. Notification of a return must occur with-in 3 days of delivery at your dealer. Shipping, convenience and dealer fees are not refundable and are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Ammunition cannot be returned.
Lay-a-way: If needed, we offer a 30,45 or 60 day lay-a-way option on most firearms. It is 1/3 now, 1/3 in 30 days and 1/3 in 60 days. Lay-a-way firearm sales are final and if not completed the payments cannot be returned.
Consigning your firearms with Treys Clays Incorporated: We will help you get top dollar for your firearms. While most local guns shops charge 20% or more, our fee is only 10% with no minimum. Local gun shops may take months to sell your item. Selling on-line provides instant access to thousands of interested buyers.
Selling through Houses typically costs the seller 15% and the buyer an addition 10-15% buyers premium(so 30%) and you may have to wait several months to sell and longer to receive funds. Trading: Trading for us is really just TCI buying your gun to re-sell. If you have a gun you want to trade, please email a picture and we will let you know what we can give for it. You will always get more if we sell it for you on consignment.
Help for California Buyers: We have always been willing to sell and ship to California. It is the buyer’s responsibility to make sure any item you buy is legal in the state. We are also happy to help with your purchase of a firearm from someone other than us. If you see a gun you would like to buy but the seller can’t or won’t ship to California they can ship to us and we’ll then ship it to your California dealer.
