Tranter Model 1868 Solid Frame Revolver in .380 Caliber
Description: Serial #12111, .380 CF, 4 1/2" octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome revolver that has retained 75-80% of the original bright blue finish on the barrel, with the cylinder & frame having an overall mottled plum-brown patina with some faded color case-hardening still visible. The frame has the usual Tranter "football" marking on the left side, and a retailer marking is present along the top of the barrel: "GRIFFITHS & WORSLEY 2 ST. MARY’S GATE, MANCHESTER." further blue can still be seen on the pivoting ejector rod housing. The finely checkered walnut grip has small handling marks and blemishes scattered about, with sharp checkering points, and some brown freckling on the domed butt-cap. The action lock-up is still tight, and the mechanism is fully functional. This is a very nice Tranter cartridge revolver, in very good- Excellent condition overall.
