Description:
From the family collection: Used; Circa 1952; Serial # K 149,8xx; Smith & Wesson K .38 Combat Masterpiece; 5-Screw Revolver; 4-Inch Slightly Tapered Barrel; Solid Serrated Rib, Windage & Elevation Click-Adjustable Target Rear Sight; 1/8-Inch-Wide Baughman Ramped Quick-Draw Front Sight; post-1948 Four-Line Address; Large S&W Monogram; Serrated Front- and Backstrap. Barrel markings: “SMITH & WESSON” Left Side; “*38 S&W SPECIAL CTG*” Right Side; Wide, Square, Deeply Checkered (Low Spur) Hammer; Wide Serrated Trigger; Frame-Mounted (fixed) Trigger Stop; Barrel is Pinned & Cylinder has Matching Serial Number. Inside the Frame where it meets the cylinder yoke – an “S” stamp indicates the 1940s hammer-block Safety. The Bore is Bright with Sharp Rifling; and the Chambers are Bright and Shiny. The Blued Finish shows Almost Zero Wear for its age (72+ years) as shown in the photographs. The transverse hole through the bottom strap (behind the grip locator pin) indicates this frame was configured for a lanyard loop before it’s final manufacture as a Combat .38. Oversize S&W Grips are not original to this gun. The Gold Box with English and Spanish Instructions likely is not original to this gun; regardless, it is well preserved. Minimal wear suggests firing with careful preservation in high condition: tiny wear near the muzzle and beneath the right grip panel. Not being dealers or experts, we estimate this revolver at approximately 98 Percent Original Modern Condition. Please ask any questions or request additional information before purchase as this item will be troublesome and costly to return owing to CA re-registration and other regulations. Any refunds will be minus our actual shipping cost and FFL fees (greater than $150) after buyer pays return shipping. The listed price Includes Insured Air Shipping from a CA FFL Dealer to yours. Payment is by Money Order, Bank (Certified) Check or Personal Check (held 2-3 days). We are the Estate Executor and Trustee, not a dealer, and cannot handle credit card or electronic payments. This item is subject to prior sale.
