A Shooter and Collector’s Used; Circa 1955; Serial # K 256,4XX; Customized Smith & Wesson .38 Special Masterpiece; Pre-Model 14; Five-Screw Sideplate Revolver; with a Later Model 8-¼ Inch Full Lug Smith & Wesson Barrel – possibly from a 1990’s Model 14-5; or from an L-Frame gun; Solid, Wide Serrated Rib & Sight Tang; Windage & Elevation Click-Adjustable Target Rear Sight; 1/8-Inch-Wide Baughman Ramp, Quick-Draw, Front Sight with Red Insert; Four-Line Address on the Frame; Large S&W Monogram on the Sideplate; Serrated Front- and Backstrap. The gun is likely refinished, leaving the markings sharp and legible, but not as deep as original. The barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON” on the Left Side; “38 SPECIAL” on the Right Side – on non-S&W factory-machined Flats. This Revolver has a Wide Checkered (Low Spur) Hammer; Wide Serrated Trigger. The Barrel is Pinned, and the Cylinder has a Matching Serial Number on the Rear Face.
