For those who prefer Stainless Steel: a collector’s Used – but difficult to photograph (it is really all one color) High-Condition Smith & Wesson Full-Lug 8-3/8 Inch Barrel Model 617 (no dash) .22 LR Revolver with the Premium Wide Target Trigger & Target Hammer; Wide, Solid Serrated Rib; Blued, Click-Adjustable Target Sights; Blued 1/8-Inch Pinned Partridge Front Sight on Integral Ramp; Recessed Cylinder; 3-Screw Sideplate; Unpinned Barrel; Serrated Front- & Backstrap; Frame-Mounted (fixed) Trigger Stop; Nicely-Contoured Pachmyr Gripper (not those clunky Presentation) Grips; Small S&W Monogram on the Left Side. Serial Number BJC 47XX indicates (approximately) 1992-1993 Date of Manufacture. The Bore is Perfect; the Cylinder and Chambers are Bright. A Cylinder line is barely visible. Not being dealers or experts, and admitting the difficulty of grading the condition of stainless steel firearms, we estimate the metal finish at 95-98 Percent Original with Photos being the best way to judge.
