RARE SMITH & WESSON TRIPLE LOCK 4 INCH BARREL - SUPERB
Description:
Reduced!
This is a superb example of a very hard to find 4-inch barrel S&W "triple lock" revolver, made in 1917. The gun is all original and retains over 98% of its blueing with just a couple of spots of surface flaking on the left side of the frame, the usual cylinder ring and a couple of tiny scratches on the underside of the ejector rod housing. The rest of the bluing is magnificent with no rust or discoloration. The gun was probably shot no more than a few times. Chambered in .44 special, the S&W most potent cartridge of the time, the gun was a pinnacle of handgun engineering, with an extra lock provided on the right side of the frame. Apparently, about 20000 were made in the triple lock configuration. This particular gun comes with a factory letter, verifying all the features and a shipment date of 1917. The 4-inch barrel is a rarity with very few made in this configuration. Excellent bore and nice original medallion grips.
A superior example of a rare unmodified "triple lock".
3-day inspection.
FFL or C&R(where legal)
$75 shipping in CONUS.
