Smith & Wesson Model 53 4-Screw .22 Jet / .22 Long Rifle Revolver 6-Inch
Description:
This is another of the most unusual and sought-after modern Smith & Wesson Revolvers: A Used Model 53 .22 Jet Centerfire; 4-Screw; 6-Inch Barrel and a Set of 6 Steel Chamber Inserts for .22 Long Rifle -- that effectively turn it into a K22; Circa 1962; Serial # K4761XX – oddly enough, assembled after the last year of the 4-Screw Frame (1961). Frame-Mounted (fixed) Trigger Stop; Pinned Barrel; Recessed Cylinders with Set of 6 x .22 LR Inserts; Windage & Elevation Click-Adjustable Factory Target Rear Sight; Serrated Topstrap and Barrel Rib; Baughman Quick-Draw Ramp Front Sight; and Frame-Mounted Centerfire and Rimfire Firing Pins that are Selectable by a Switch/Lever on the top edge of the Hammer. The barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON” on the Left Side; “22 MAGNUM” on the Right Side. Unmarked Ambidextrous Target Grips fill the frontstrap-trigger guard gap. They have splinters on the inside of the right-hand panel around the escutcheon. This revolver has less wear, and the blue finish is in somewhat better overall condition than our 8-3/8” Jet listing elsewhere. There is a visible cylinder line, and marks on the frame face from recoil and from operating the the cylinder. The rest of the condition is visible in the photos. The Barrel is Bright with Perfect Rifling; and the Cylinders & Inserts are in excellent condition as well. Not being dealers or experts, and not considering the grips, we estimate the metal finish of this revolver at approximately 95-98 Percent Modern Condition. Please ask any questions or request additional information before purchase as this item will be troublesome and costly to return owing to CA re-registration and other regulations. Any refunds will be minus our actual shipping cost and FFL fees (greater than $150) after buyer pays return shipping. The listed price Includes Insured Air Shipping from a CA FFL Dealer to yours. Payment is by Money Order, Bank (Certified) Check or Personal Check (held 2-3 days). We are the Estate Executor and Trustee, not a dealer, and cannot handle credit card or electronic payments. This item is subject to prior sale.
