Smith & Wesson M&P Revolver Issued to the US Navy 5-15-1942
Description:
This revolver was shipped to the US Navy on 5-15-1942. It comes with a letter from Smith & Wesson. This revolver has been in my personal collection for several years. I believe this M&P Model 1905 is rare as I have only seen 2 others like this in all my years of collecting and they were pictures only. The revolver has a stamp on it that is hard to see but was initially to be sent to the Seattle Police Department. When the US entered WWII the revolver was sent to the US Navy instead. The US Navy engraved the receiver with PROPERTY OF U.S. NAVY then painted the engraving in red. After the war, the revolver was issued to the Civil Defense. The bore is bright. Lockup is tight and timing is correct. Included is the letter, holster and belt. Shipping is $25.00. USPS MO or certified bank check accepted for payment. All numbers match. See all pics.
