Smith and Wesson
1899 Military and Police
Description:
I'm no expert, but I think I have this right. It's a Smith and Wesson Military and Police of 1899 made beteween 1899 and 1902. It has a 4-digit serial number 7XXX. It is marked .38 Special and that's what it shoots. The finish is essentially all gone with traces of nickel here and there. The gun seems mechanically fine. It is tight and in time, I have shot it, and it groups well. The bore definitely shows evidence of improper cleaning of corrosive powders back in the day - not black, but not bright either. There is a very small chip (cosmetically repaired) out of the top of the right grip which I believe is Gutta Percha. I will coordiinate shipping method and shipping cost with a prospective buyer. I hope I have it priced right given the condition. Questions, please ask and thanks for the interest.
