Description: This is a pristine and spectacular all-original Smith & Wesson Military & Police Model 10-5 .38 Special revolver complete with the original box, assorted factory pamphlets, cleaning rod and brush, and anti-rust shipping paper. This Model 10-5 is as clean as they come, with the beautiful gloss-blue factory finish rating 99%. The only deduction keeping this Smith from being perfect is an extremely faint drag-line around the cylinder that can only be seen when the gun is held at certain angles in just the right light. The factory case colors on the trigger and hammer are flawless and bright, rating 100% with no wear or defects visible. The bore in the 4" inch barrel is mirror-bright and perfect, showing sharp lands and grooves throughout the rifling and with no pitting, erosion, or imperfections visible. The 6 chambers of the fluted cylinder are equally as perfect with no visible wear or imperfections. All of the factory markings on this Smith are crisp and clean, and all of the screw heads on the gun are straight with no marring. The factory checkered Walnut "Diamond" grips on this M&P Model are just like the rest of the gun, in excellent condition. The checkering is crisp and free from any soiling, and both grip panels are free from any cracks, chips, gouges, repairs, or major damage. Both factory grip panels are perfectly fit to the gun and tight to the grip frame with no wiggle. The action on this Smith is extremely smooth, slick, and perfectly "in time". The cylinder lock-up at full-lock is superb and rock-solid with ZERO play or wiggle. All of the controls on this Smith are in like-new 100% perfect working order, and the trigger breaks nicely in either mode of operation. This S&W Military & Police Model should perform just as well today as the day it left the factory 59 years ago. As mentioned before, this Smith comes complete with everything it left the factory with except for the owner's manual, which has been lost to time. If you are looking for a true investment-grade Smith & Wesson Model 10, this 1962-production example would be a superb choice. It would be all but impossible to upgrade from this beauty in any respect.
