Smith Wesson Single Shot First Model HM Pope 22 LR

Description:
Here is a Smith & Wesson First Model Single Shot in 22 LR.  The barrel is relined by HM Pope with his barrel number 680.  The frame is a transitional first model where there are groves in the side of the frame, a cylinder stop machined in the bottom of the frame, and no slot for the cylinder hand.  The gun wears a barrel from the 3rd model single shot that is machined fancy flat on the bottom and has serial number 8572. The rear sight is un-numbered from a 3rd model single shot.  The grips have a chip missing and they have an off white substance on the bottom that can be scraped off.  The frame was sent back to the factory in June of 1921 and the serial number has a star after it.
