Smith & Wesson First Model Hand Ejector in .32 S&W Caliber

Description: This was Smith & Wesson's first production double-action revolver with a swing-out cylinder. It was introduced by S&W in 1896 and was in production until 1903, with 19,712 total made during the production run. This example is serial number 10,651 and was made sometime between 1899 and 1901. This 1st Model Hand Ejector has the rarely encountered 6" inch barrel, and has a factory-original nickel-plated finish, with 85% of the finish remaining. This pistol is unique in that there is no barrel address, all of the patent markings and the Smith & Wesson name and address are engraved around the cylinder. The grips on this Hand Ejector are the original set which are numbered to the gun (inside of right grip). The grips have a great look to them, and are in good condition other than the left side grip has a chunk missing on the bottom of the grip (pictured). The bore in this Smith & Wesson is very good, especially when compared to most of these that you will see. The bore is bright and clean, has nice strong rifling, and only shows a few scattered pits. The action on this gun is in perfect working order and is perfectly "in-time". This is the gun that started the whole line of famous double-action S&W's, and every serious Smith & Wesson collection should have an example of this fine revolver.
