Serial #53029, .38 S&W, 4 inch barrel with an excellent bore. This is the .38 Double Action Perfected Model manufactured by Smith & Wesson from 1909-1920 with this example made toward the very end of that time period. This was the only top break model produced by S&W that also incorporated a side latch cylinder release. In excellent condition it retains about 88-90% of the original blue finish with thinning at the muzzle and high wear points with some light scratches and other scattered use marks and freckles. The hammer and trigger show slightly muted case color and the hard rubber grips, correct but mismatched rate near excellent. Mechanically the gun functions properly, locks up tight and times properly. FFL or C&R
