Built in 1937 this supremely rare Smith & Wesson Model of 1905, 4th Change M&P is one of less than 250 ever built with a 2” barrel. In 1935 D.B. Wesson ordered 250 2” barrels made and knowledgable collectors are aware only some of them were assembled and sold before the war. These are highly sought after by and very seldom come to market, doubly so in such high condition. This is the first investment grade example we have had for sale in a few years! The gun retains virtually 99% of the original bright blue finish showing only the slightest collector-type handling evidence. The bore and cylinder chambers are mint. Note the original numbers matching black hard rubber grips are every bit as mint and crisp and the gun itself. Among the rarest pre war K-frame S&W to be found anytime anywhere!
