Description:
This is a Smith and Wesson .357 Registered Magnum revolver. made in 1936 as a 8 3/4''  barreled gun. It sence has a 3/1/2 '' brl probable put on because of this police officer wanted to holster this piece. Its in excellent mechanical condition, very nice bore ,locks up tight in single and double action. the grips are holster worn and are correct for this piece ,the right grip is numbered to the gun. This revolver is serialed in many places. the butt, the cylinder, the crane, the extracter, barrel, all correct except the barrel as its been changed. The 8and 3/4 in the box is numbered to the gun but is not in .357?? why?? who knows? it appears to be 45 calibre.the short barrel appears to have been on this piece for ever as it matches perfectly in wear and color and is the correct vintage barrel..The king sights are cool as well.the front sight has a mirror to reflect light on the bead. The finish is still real nice with holster wear, edge wear , the finish is the high polish Smith put on then. I have the Smith letter from Roy Jinks also, The original rare smith and wesson certificate that its indeed the Registered magnum. The police officer pictured is the guy that owned this piece , He worked out of Richmond, california, on sanfrancisco bay. the badge pictured is his and probably in a badge collectors collection somewhere? enjoy the pics of thie guy. This gun is good and solid ,I fired it a few times and its tight and in excellent condition.  Registered mags are rare to find, especially with the box and the registration numbered certificate.
