ITEM DISCRIPTION: Here for Sale-- This "Highly Sought and Desirable", 1951 Smith & Wesson, 5 screw K-38 Target Masterpiece, An original S&W box, 38spl., pinned 6 inch barrell, Double action revolver, still owned by the original family.
Features: Built on a 5-screw Square Butt K-frame. Serial number K 138-613, manufactured in 1951, and sold to my father in 1954. He etched his name KLOSS H and date [95 4 NO] into the revolver's frame. It has high gloss deep blue original finish with strong appealing case colors. A pinned 6 inch barrel with a wide full length top rib with 10 grooves, In true target configuration, A ramped a 1/8-inch Semi-Partridge front post, with an adjustable Micro-Click .146 black square notch rear sight. A grooved .265 target trigger with a checkered .375 target hammer. Matching to Gun's numbers, checkered Diamond Walnut stocks with silver S&W medallions.
This item also comes complete with the originaL blue two piece box with the original label, A Hoppe's 38 caliber pistol cleaning kit, A leather Sheepskin lined carry bag, An original 1950's K Revolver parts list with their costs. And from an ORIGINAL Smith & Wesson Advertisement from the 1955 "American Rifleman" showing Torsen Ullman in 1955 using a MODEL K- TARGET MASTERPIECE set a new world record score of 586 out of a possible 600 while winning the World Championship in Caracas Venazuala, the gun's only Special Feature was to change the grips to custom made walnut stocks with a thumb rest. These were similar to the white plastic target ones included in this sale .
