Offered here for sale is a newly acquired classic Smith & Wesson revolver just obtained from a prestigious firearms collection is this pristine example of a Smith & Wesson K-38 Combat Masterpiece .38 Revolver.
This K-frame .38 Special revolver , a Model 15-2. has a 4 inch barrel, blued finish, Factory original walnut grips with S&W medallions, double-action, adjustable rear sight, ramp front sight, and chambers 6 rounds. Serial number K772882 places production approximately in 1968.
The specimen appears unfired with only a slight cylinder turn line—that’s typical even from light factory testing. No box or paperwork but the gun’s condition and originality keeps it highly desirable. The revolver was oiled and stored away for decades until we obtained it. Wiped down just a bit of “peach fuzz” which we will clean off before shipping. Specimens like this were favorites among law enforcement and military—durable, accurate, and beautifully balanced. Collectors especially love the pre-lock, pinned and recessed era S&W revolvers, and the Model 15-2 is firmly in that golden age of craftsmanship.
