**SOLD**Smith & Wesson Model 66 No Dash Combat Magnum Revolver in .357 Magnum **Mfg 1974 - 1st Production Model - Pinned Barrel**
Description: **SOLD**Here is a very nice 1974 vintage Smith & Wesson Model 66 combat magnum in .357 Magnum caliber. This fine Smith 66 is built on the mid sized K frame. Originally designed in 1899 for the .38 Special, the K frame was drafted into magnum duty by post-World War II Smith & Wesson President Carl Hellstrom after a lengthy conversation with sixgun artist and lawman Bill Jordan at the National Matches at Camp Perry. The topic was designing the ultimate law enforcement sidearm, and the result was the Combat Magnum. Chambered for the newish .357 Magnum cartridge, it sported a shrouded barrel and adjustable sights. This particular example is in very nice physical condition and mechanically excellent. It has a few scuffs but nothing serious. The 4" barrel has a full underlug, a bright bore and strong rifling. Sights are a ramped front with fully adjustable rear. The grips have only very minor signs of use and wear. Both grips have the Smith & Wesson medallion. The cylinder has moderately light turn rings. All checkering is sharp and distinct. Lock up in the "fired" condition is quite tight. Behind the trigger is an overtravel stop that is adjustable internally (effectively a "trigger stop). This fine Smith & Wesson would make a great addition to a collection or an excellent shooter.
