Smith & Wesson Model 29-5 .44 Magnum w/ 7.5" Barrel -- Excellent Condition!!

Description:
For sale, a very interesting and scarce Smith & Wesson Model 29-5 .44 Magnum built on the "round butt" N-frame.  This model featured a 7.5" inch full underlug barrel with a interchangable front sight arrangement and an adjustable rear sight, rubber finger-groove Hogue grips with S&W medallions, and a beautiful high polish gloss blue factory finish.  This particular model was made at Smith & Wesson for two years only from 1990 thru 1991 and has all the features of the "Limited Edition .44 Magna Classic".  This 29-5 Model is known as an "over-run model" Magna Classic.  It was made up of leftover parts from the 2000 revolver run of the Magna Classic, however they did get their own serial number range seperate from those limited edition guns.  Because these 29-5's have their own serial numbered production block, they have become a collectible variation in their own right.  This S&W 29-5 is in excellent original condition retaining 98% of the factory gloss blue finish.  It shows only some very small handling marks and a faint turn line on the cylinder.  The bore is minty, bright and clean with sharp lands and grooves in the rifling and no signs of pitting or erosion.  The case hardened target hammer and target trigger retain 98% of the case colors, and the attractive colors still boldly stand out from the rest of the gun.  The original factory installed Hogue rubber grips with S&W medallions are also in excellent shape.  They are clean and free from tears or chunks missing.  The textured grip is still tacky and flexible for a good grip, and they will reduce the felt recoil of the powerful .44 Magnum cartridge.  This S&W was built with pre-MIM (metal injection molded) parts and no built-in action lock, features sought after by shooters and collectors alike today.  The action on this Smith is smooth and it locks up tight, and all of the controls work 100% like the day it left the factory.  The trigger breaks nicely in single or double action modes of operation.  If you have been looking for a "top of the line" Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum revolver, this Model 29-5 would be a great choice.  It would be a lot of fun at the range or in the field, and it would be an excellent investment as well.
