Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman Custom Finish

Description: We have a rather unique Model 28 .357 Magnum Highway Patrolman for sale here. It was manufactured in 1976 by Smith & Wesson with a blued finish, and at some point in the last 30 years refinished in a satin hard chrome finish. This is an extremely durable finish that resists corrosion and abrasion. This was likely done because the original blue finish had deteriorated in places and formed some light pitting, but could have also been done as a preventative measure with the intent that this gun was going to be carried in a tough environment with little time to properly care for a blued handgun. Regardless, the end result is a heavy duty N-frame Smith and Wesson that is an ideal carry and backpacking gun that is virtually maintenance-free. The action is smooth in both single and double action modes of operation. The cylinder is "in time" with the action, and at full lock there is just a tiny bit of wiggle. The trigger breaks nicely with no creep or drag. If you have been looking for a N-frame Smith & Wesson carry gun that you can shoot and take with you backpacking/camping/hunting/boating that you dont don't have to worry about, this would be an excellent choice.
