Antique SMITH & WESSON 2nd Model .32 Cal. Double Action TOP BREAK Revolver
Nickel Plated 1880s Self Defense Revolver!
Description: Antique SMITH & WESSON 2nd Model .32 Cal. Double Action TOP BREAK Revolver Nickel Plated 1880s Self Defense Revolver!
Here we present an antique 2nd Model Smith & Wesson .32 S&W Double Action Revolver, made circa 1880-82 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Smith & Wesson Second Models were produced between 1880 and 1882 with a total production of approximately 22,142 examples. This is one of the rarer of the S&W revolvers. As mentioned above, this revolver was chambered for the .32 S&W cartridge and was equipped with a 3” barrel. They were fitted with a 5-shot fluted cylinder and were either blue finished or nickel plated. They came with a top break design and round butt. The grips were either checkered or floral embossed hard rubber with the S&W monogram. The 2nd Model added an oval sideplate, eliminating the weakness of the 1st Model. The serial number ranged from 31 to 22172.
These were petite and handy little guns that chambered 5 cartridges, perfect for the pocket and enough to get out of most scrapes.
The overall condition is fine. Excellent action. Bright bore. Original nickel and blue finish. Numbers match and the markings are sharp. Both grips are in very good shape with an average amount of handling. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 3 inches.
Caliber: .32 S&W
