1997 Smith & Wesson Model 19-7 2.5" Barrel .357 Magnum - Kentucky D.O.C., Probation, & Parole Marked!!!
Description:
This Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum Model 19-7 is unique in that it is a former Kentucky Department of Corrections, Probation, and Parole issued revolver. This Model 19 is serial number CCP8602 and was manufactured in 1997. The Kentucky D.O.C. Probation & Parole property stamp is located on the right side of the frame. The original factory blue finish is still in very good shape overall, glossy and rating 95%. There are some very small handling marks and some light holster wear (high edge & muzzle), but no major finish issues. The bore in the original 2.5" inch barrel is in excellent condition. The rifling still looks sharp and there is no pitting or erosion visible. The cylinder bores are equally as clean. This Model 19-7 still has the original factory Uncle Mike's rubber "Combat" grips on it, which are in great shape with no tears or chunks missing. The factory started using these as factory standard grips on this model in 1994 when they went from the dash-6 to the dash-7. The other changes made were factory drilling and tapping this model for scope mounts and a new extractor and rear sight leaf used. Everything on this S&W works 100% like the day it left the factory. All of the controls work properly and the action is smooth and perfectly "in time" whether it is worked single or double action. The trigger is exceptionally good in single action operation. If you have been looking for a unique Model 19 to add to your collection, or if you are a collector of Police and D.O.C. guns, here is your chance to get an example that is not often on the market in all-original condition.
