1976 Smith & Wesson Model 38 Airweight Bodyguard .38 Special in Nickel w/ Original Box, Cleaning Kit, & Paperwork SOLD

Description:
This Smith & Wesson Airweight Bodyguard Model 38 is a beautiful revolver.  Introduced in 1955, the Model 38 S&W was made for self defense as a concealed carry snub nose revolver.  They were very successful commercially and quickly earned a reputation for being lightweight but reliable and well-built.  This example is serial number J363866 and was built in 1976.  It features a spectacular factory nickel finish, a pinned 2" inch barrel, a lightweight alloy frame that shrouds the hammer, and checkered Walnut grips.  This Model 38 is in minty, like-new condition.  Outside of the factory test firing, it may have had five or ten rounds fired thru it at most.  It is obvious that this Smith has spent 99% of it's life in storage.  The factory nickel finish rates 99%, with the only deduction taken based off of the front right side frame screw having a tiny spot of marring next to it.  The bore is minty and mirror bright.  The rifling still shows sharp lands and grooves with no pitting or erosion showing whatsoever.  The cylinder bores are likewise just as clean and bright.  The original factory grips are in like-new condition.  They have sharp checkering and are very clean, free from wear, cracks, scratches, chips, or repairs.  The action on this Airweight Bodyguard .38 is in perfect working order.  The cylinder is "in time" and locks up perfectly with no slop or wiggle.  The trigger is crisp and functions perfectly.  This Model 38 could pass as having left the factory last week rather than 42 years ago.  This S&W comes with the original 2-piece factory box that is serial numbered to the gun.  The factory end label is still tight to the box and is clear and legible.  Also included along with the box is the factory cleaning kit, the owner's manual, the warranty card, a factory service center list, an S&W Knife brochure, and an S&W Ammunition brochure. This Airweight Bodyguard is as complete as it gets and is certainly as nice as it gets!  If you have been looking for a minty nickel finish Model 38 to add to your collection, it would be very hard if not impossible to upgrade from this one.
