1969 3-Screw Ruger Single Six .22 Caliber Revolver w/ .22 Mag Cylinder & Original Box, Manual, Etc.
SOLD
Description: This is a very nice lightly-used and all-original "Old Model" (3-screw) Ruger Single Six .22 revolver complete with the original serial-numbered box, manual, warranty card, packing paper, and serial numbered .22 magnum cylinder in the factory pouch. This Single Six has not been modified with the transfer bar and is 100% original as it shipped from the factory. This Ruger shows some light finish wear at the muzzle and grip straps, as well as some minor dings and scratches from storage and handling over the last 50 years but no major damage or eyesores. As you can see from the pictures, it is a very good looking gun that was carried and used a little but obviously cared-for. The action on this Single Six is perfectly "in time" with with some nice loud clicks each time the hammer is cocked. The bore is excellent, with nice sharp lands and grooves in the rifling and no visible pitting, erosion, or imperfections. The cylinder bores in both cylinders are like the barrel, in excellent condition with no defects. While the .22 rimfire cylinder shows a light drag line and a little finish wear in the notches, the .22 magnum cylinder appears to be unfired and would be perfect if not for 2 little spots of pitting from some surface rust on the exterior. As mentioned before, the .22 magnum cylinder is numbered with the last 3 digits of the gun's serial number on the face of the cylinder (close-up picture provided). The original factory Walnut grips are in great shape overall with no cracks, chips, or repairs. Both sides show only some very minor handling marks and light wear, with a little black paint missing on the right grip panel's Ruger medallion. All of the controls on this Single Six are in perfect working order, and the trigger is superb, breaking with a light pull with no grit or slop. These early Single Six revolvers were the very best examples with excellent fit and finish and perfect mechanics. If you have been looking for an "Old Model" Single Six for your collection that still has a great look it but is not so perfect that you would feel bad shooting and carrying it, this 1969 model would be an excellent choice. With proper care it could be enjoyed at the range or on the farm without hurting it's long term investment value. Very seldom do we run across these early 3-screw guns intact with everything they left the factory with in any condition, much less one that has never been back to the factory for the transfer bar modification.
