Remington New Model Police Revolver in .38 RF Conversion SOLD

Description:
For sale, a nice Remington New Model Police revolver with factory cartridge conversion to .38RF. Designed to compete with the Colt 1862 Police and Pocket Navy models, this revolver was a scaled down version of the Remington Navy and Belt Models. Made from 1865 to 1873, Remington made these originally in percussion and later on in production as a factory cartridge conversion. The conversion uses a special two piece cylinder and required some alterations of the frame. Loading levers from the original percussion design were left in place. Everything works like it should and it still locks up tight. It has a good bore with strong rifling and some light pitting. The original walnut grips are in great shape with no cracks or repairs and fit tight to the gun. This would be a great addition to any antique arms collection.
