Original Remington Model 1861 Army Revolver CIVIL WAR
Description: Original Remington Model 1861 Army Revolver CIVIL WAR , AKA Old Model Army 44 cal. Bore show some pitting mostly bright and sharp, mechanically perfect, Original Grips show no varnish remaining and a repair I think, on the left grip. Also on the left grip are some initials, I can not make out? Maybe "J.N.W." Both grips have an old brass tack with a steel shank on the top of each grip. The 8 inch octagon barrel is marked "PATENTED SEPT. 14 1858 (next line) E. REMINGTON & SON'S ILOIN NEW YORK USA" (next line should read NEW MODEL but was not struck hard enough.). Serial # 43967. Other single letter markings are inspectors initials and are highlighted in the photos. Metal overall has an aged silver grey with some pitting in areas. The grips have been modified to allow for a lanyard string. ( I have seen this done on old CIVIL WAR used guns as a way to retain control of your gun when in battle on horse back. It must have been a hell of thing to live through. This ANTIQUE and can be shipped directly to you. Also included is a second cylinder. Both cylinders rotate and lock up fine. The original Remington powder flask, is no longer usable without some repair work. No other props are included. Sold as an Antique ~ no guarantees, warranties, or liabilities for any actual usage. If any firearms are to be used for shooting purposes, a qualified gunsmith should inspect them first. We will ship antique guns over seas. Payment: Item, can be ordered on line with a credit card or paypal on our sight. Just Google (riverjunction) and type in the River Junction Trade Co. item number (6425) in the search box. Before you checkout you will see shipping cost and total. OR If you prefer: Pay by cash, postal money order, cashiers check, personal & business checks. We wait for checks to clear. We always answer questions and entertain offers. Have questions? Call me 563-880-4588. Jim SOLD |
