IMPORTANT REVISION 11/9/2020 THIS IS A NEW MODEL NAVY NOT NM ARMY
Big mistake in posting by a Colt collector! My apologies. After more research prompted by by an E Mailed question, I found that I shouldn't have taken the previous owner at his word. The revolver in this posting is a New Model Navy. Next time I'll stick to what I know.
Civilian New Model NAVY with 7-3/8" barrel. S/N 23394 Mfd in 1863. Shows signs of use and age as can be seen in photos. There are two chips in the right grip and some pitting on barrel and loading lever. Overall, revolver rates very good. Bore is clean as can be seen in photos and revolver is mechanically sound. Barrel and cylinder retain 80% blue while frame is plum. There doesn't appear to have ever been any silver on trigger guard.
Very few of these revolvers remain as percussion as most, specially martial pieces were converted to .38 rim fire.
Barrel address and patent date worn but legible.
