Remington Model 1890 Single Action Revolver with Rare Blued Finish
Description: Serial #1257, .44-40 (.44 WCF), 7 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a great looking revolver that has retained about 20-25% of the original bright blue finish, mostly on the frame, ejector rod housing, and within the cylinder flutes. The front sight has been professionally repaired/reattached but does not take away from the esthetic. The balance of the metal has turned to a mixture of dull gray and plum-brown, but all edges and markings are still sharp and crisp. The original hard rubber grips are included, but the upper tabs have broken off and the right grip panel has three filled holes where the revolver was apparently once displayed on a wall. Also included are a pair of modern-made bone grips that have an attractive, aged ivory coloring. The lock-up is still tight, and the action functions flawlessly. Only about 2,020 Model 1890 revolvers were ever manufactured, with most surviving specimens having the more common nickel finish. This is a blued example that remains in very good-fine condition, and would make a stellar addition to any collection of "Wild West" guns and memorabilia. Antique SOLD Antique: Yes |
