Antique US REMINGTON IMPROVED New Model Army Conversion to .46 Rimfire With Rollin White Patent Date on Cylinder
Description: Antique US REMINGTON IMPROVED New Model Army Conversion to .46 Rimfire With Rollin White Patent Date on Cylinder Here we present an antique U.S. Contract Remington “Improved” New Model Army Cartridge Conversion Revolver with Rollin White Patent, likely issued to a Union soldier circa 1863-65, during the American Civil War. The New Model Army was manufactured from 1863 to 1875 and converted during the same era with a total production of approximately 132,000 and represented the last of Remington’s .44 caliber percussion revolvers. The Remington New Model Army represents the second-most number of issued handguns found on Civil War battlefields, second only to the Colt 1860 Army. After the war, some of these were updated to use metallic cartridges—in this case, .46 Rimfire. This was accomplished with a new 5-shot cylinder, the installation of a recoil plate, and the milling of a loading groove on the right side. The overall condition is fine. Original blue finish. The action is excellent. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The grips are in good condition and solid. Numbers match throughout. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 8 inches. Caliber: .46 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $3000 #244010 Price: $3,000.00 Buy Now Antique: Yes Contact Seller |
