Ornate French Lefaucheux 7mm Pin Fire Folding-Trigger Revolver Silver Engraved Revolver
Description: Assembly #5802, 7mm Pin Fire, 3 ½ inch barrel with a near excellent, dark bore with strong rifling. This is a first type, folding trigger, double action, French made / "Crown/LF" proofed revolver marked and made by or under license of Lefaucheux. The early ornate revolver features a heavily plated Silver frame with ornate flower and leaf designs marked on the right with patent #62908 and on the left with "5802" likely a serial number. The blued cylinder features similar ornate floral engraving. The blued frame has crown over "LF" proof on the left and crown over "Z" on the right. In excellent overall condition the barrel and cylinder retain about 75-80% of an enhanced blue finish toning to plum brown with some scratches and around the center pin screw. The silver frame rates excellent showing some wear with a very mellow, natural patina. The floral carved checkered grips are solid showing even wear some flattening of the points. The double action only trigger folds down properly, advancing the cylinder with proper timing and fires with a crisp break but does not return and must be pushed forward to repeat the process. A beautiful example of these early Lefaucheux revolvers. Antique SOLD Antique: Yes |
