WW2 1944 Vintage Russian Model 1895 Nagant Revolver in 7.62x38R Nagant ** Beautiful Example ** SOLD

Description:
Here is a recently imported Russian 1895 Nagant Revolver manufactured during WW2 in 1944. This revolver was Russian arsenal refinished after World War 2 and placed into storage for many years before being sold as surplus. The current finish is nearly perfect with checkered wood grips. The 1895 Nagant revolver is an interesting Russian Military piece with a complex "gas seal" action.  When the hammer is cocked the cylinder is pushed forward to mate the forcing cone of the barrel to the chamber being fired.  The forcing cone would actaully make contact with the brass cartridge and seal together.  This seal was designed to prevent gas from escaping and allow for more velocity for the bullet.  The unique cartridges for this revolver are as long as the cylinder, and are loaded with the bullet tip flush with the end of the brass case to allow a good seal with the barrel's forcing cone.  The action on this revolver is perfectly "in time" and all of the controls on this Nagant are in perfect working order.  This 1944 production Nagant revolver would make an excellent addition to any WW2 weapons collection and a blast to take to the range or farm.  The 7.62x33R Nagant ammunition is usually widely available as both surplus and modern commercial manufacture.
