Brazilian Contract Model 1937 Revolver by S&W
Description:
Serial #169381, .45 ACP, 5 1/2” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is handsome revolver that has matching numbered frame, cylinder, barrel, extractor, and yoke. The frame and barrel retain 90-92% of the original bright blue finish with some small nicks and scratches along the high edges, and mild fading at the muzzle and a few of the other exposed surfaces. The cylinder, which has a light turn-ring, has a few additional bright surface scratches, and the gripstraps have mild freckling and some pinprick pitting along the surface. The matching numbered walnut grips are in very good shape with minor handling marks, and a series of nicks along the edge of the butt on both sides. The revolver is import marked under the left grip. The lock-up is tight and the action functions flawlessly. While not a particularly hard to find Model 1917 variant, finding one that was never refinished is very difficult. This example rates fine-near excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R
