Smith & Wesson Lew Horton M624, 1 0f 5000, .44 S&W, ALL STAINLESS STEEL
Description: General Specs: Smith & Wesson M624, Lew Horton Special, 1985-87, 37oz .44S&W, 3" Serial Number: ALW4843 Lew Horton was a well-known distributor of firearms. Founded in 1948 in Framingham Massachusetts by Horton Sr. In 1960 Lew Horton Jr. joined the company and helped lead the company to a bright future. Lew Horton was to become a major firearms distributor. He ordered many special edition Smith & Wesson’s. They were produced exclusively for his distribution, and all came through the Smith & Wesson performance center. This Lew Horton M624 is part of a limited run of 5000 that was manufactured between 1985 and 1987. It is built out of stainless steel with a brushed finish. Chambered in .44 S&W it has a 3” full underlug barrel with a mirror bore. A Solid serrated top rib, a red ramp front sight with an adjustable combat rear sight with white outline. The revolver is in its factory original form which includes a round butt and Goncalo Alves combat grips fitted with S&W medallions. It has some handling wear and a faint drag line around the cylinder. Cocking the hammer on this gun is a satisfying combination of sound and mechanical perfection leading to a SA trigger break of 2.7lb, DA is likewise smooth at 9.7lb. The finger grooves and thumb cutout help lock this powerful revolver into the hand and offer excellent recoil control. A great combat handgun for carrying in the woods or having a blast down on the range! Lew Horton limited editions are well respected and with limited numbers available are gaining collector status. A great way to add a sub-genre to your Smith & Wesson collection. Thank you looking.
