Antique AMERICAN “BULL DOG” 32 Rimfire DA Revolver

Made by Iver Johnson Circa 1883

Here we present an antique “AMERICAN BULL-DOG” .32 Double Action Revolver, made circa 1883 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, by Iver Johnson. Iver Johnson was a U.S. firearms, bicycle, and motorcycle manufacturer from 1871 to 1993. The company shared the same name as its founder, Norwegian-born Iver Johnson (1841–1895). The revolver was a small, sturdy, well-built self-defense weapon, ideal for potent conceal and carry in the closing decades of the tumultuous 19th Century.

This revolver features a double/single action trigger and five shots of .32 Long Rimfire. The double action trigger is smooth and the single action trigger is crisp. The top of the barrel is marked “AMERICAN BULL DOG” and the grips have an eagle molded into them. The entirety is very nicely nickel plated.

The overall condition is near fine. The original nickel finish is 95%. The markings are clear. The trademarked hard rubber grips are in fine shape. The bore is clean with sharp rifling. One of the five chambers in the cylinder is cracked as the wall looks like it was quite thin. The action is excellent.
